Florida’s dangerous instrumentality law Are you in danger?

Did you know Florida is one of the very few jurisdictions where the owner of an automobile is responsible for the driver’s negligence? If the owner and the driver are the same of course this makes sense. What happens if you loan your vehicle to a friend or your teenager loans their vehicle in your name to a friend and they cause an accident? You are responsible under Florida law. For this reason as well as many more never loan your car to anyone unless you’re prepared to pay for their mistake. Your insurance will cover their negligence, but you will still get sued and perhaps be required to appear in court. The lesson of course is simple. Be careful who you trust. For answers to this as well as other legal questions contact the trial experts @ lavely & Whyte. (941) 747-7994 or (877) EXPERTS (877) 3973787.
