Don’t walk and text

We’ve all heard about the campaign to not text and drive. How about don’t text and walk? Recently in Florida the appellate court reversed a trial court’s decision when witness statements were excluded because what is know to lawyers as the accident report privilege. Sadly the case involved a young teenage boy who was walking with friends after a pickup basketball game. Apparently the young man killed was walking with his buddies and texting while walking. His friends saw the oncoming car; he didn’t. It is alleged he was distracted because he was texting. Please warn your young children of the dangers of not only texting while driving, but doing anything dangerous like crossing a road while texting. They may not get a second chance to make that mistake. Please hug your children tonight and tell them you love them!
